WANA: The political administration of South Waziristan said Monday the special two-day registration process for the internally displaced persons (IDPs) voluntarily returning to their native towns and villages would begin today (Tuesday).
Talking to reporters, Assistant Political Agent Ladha sub-division Nawab Khan Safi said the administration had established registration counter in the adjoining Tank district at the office of the political agent to assist the return of the IDPs to the Mahsud-inhibited areas in South Waziristan.
He added the families registered in the two-day process would be sent to their native areas from July 16-18 through free of cost transport service.The official added that the returning families would be provided a tent and other essential items, besides Rs25,000 in cash through the ATM facility.
He said the World Food Programme (WFP) ration facility provided to the IDPs living in Tank and Dera Ismail Khan districts would be henceforth provided to the affected families in their areas of origin.
