PESHAWAR: The second annual summer camp organised by the Tourism Corporation Khyber Pukhtunkhwa (TCKP) and the University of Peshawar (UoP) concluded at the university’s Baragali Campus.

 

A press release issued here on Monday said a group of 25 students from various institutions was provided a five-day study tour to Nathiagali, Dongagali and Ayubia.The event included trekking, walking, hiking, watching of birds and natural beauty of mountainous area, visiting wildlife museum and the historic water spring at Dongagali.

 

The students also enjoyed barbecue and bonfire during the five-day camping in the pine forest at Galiyat. Youth Tourism Development Programme (YTDP) Director Zahoor Durrani guided the students and briefed them about the flora and fauna of the area.

 

He said the aim of the programme was to promote ecotourism and create awareness about importance of tourism among the youth, particularly school and college students. He added that it would help develop their interpersonal skills, self-confidence and discipline and make them better human beings. The students enjoyed the trekking on the green Baragali-Nathiagali track.
