HANGU: Six militants were killed during a clash with the security forces in Thall tehsil of Hangu district on Friday, sources said.The sources said that the clash took place when a group of militants attacked the Naway Dhand checkpost of the security forces. In the ensuing three-hour fight, six militants were killed, the sources said.

 

Four soldiers identified as Havaldar Israr, Lance Naik Muhammad Nazir, Lance Naik Ahmed Khan and Sepoy Rehmat Ali sustained injuries in the exchange of fire, the sources added.It was learnt that District Police Officer Mian Muhammad Saeed visited the spot soon after the incident.

 

Meanwhile, officials of the bomb disposal unit defused two explosive devices reportedly planted by the militants to target the security forces.Several mortar shells left behind by the fleeing militants were also seized.
