MARDAN: Hundreds of activists of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Mardan chapter, on Tuesday staged protest rally in support of Chief Justice of Pakistan and against prolonged loadshedding.

The rally was led by the PTI leader Asad Qaiser, provincial information secretary Shah Farman Khan, district president Mohammad Atif Khan, district information secretary Mohammad Riaz Paindakhel, Muazzam Khan Hoti and others.

The protesters, while holding banners and placards, chanted anti-government slogans and against long duration of loadshedding, provincial and federal governments. They were holding portraits of Chief Justice of Pakistan.

The speakers said masses were faced with a host problems, but rulers had turned a blind eye to their woes. They alleged the so-called Pakhtun leaders were busy pocketing funds meant for uplift schemes.

They said conspiracies were being hatched against the chief justice as the rulers wanted to pressurise him. They said the nation stood by the chief justice and independent judiciary.
