BARA: Three persons including a senior member of the Zakhakhel Amn lashkar were killed while six others were injured in two subsequent bomb blasts targeting two vehicles in Mastak area of Tirah Valley in Khyber Agency on Monday, tribal sources said.

The sources said an empty passenger vehicle was passing through Mastak area when it was hit by a roadside bomb. As result of the blast the driver, Kabeen was killed while the vehicle was badly damaged.

Later the volunteers of the peace lashkar rushed to the site in a double cabin pick up and cordoned off the area. As they were removing the body, another explosion occurred and hit their vehicle which killed two volunteers of the Zakhakhel tribal lashkar, including Commander Umar.

Six volunteers sustained minor injuries. The vehicle of the peace lashkar was destroyed in the explosion. The Zakhakhel tribesmen believed the peace lashkar was the target of the two explosions carried out by their rival militant group Lashkar-e-Islam (LI). The LI, however, did not claim the responsibility for the blast.
