Launching ceremony of ‘Made in Pakistan Exhibition 2016’ held

The launching ceremony of 4th ‘Made in Pakistan Exhibition 2016’ was held in Islamabad by the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI). The ‘Made in Pakistan’ exhibition will be held in Kabul in the first week of May next year.
Afghanistan Ambassador Janan Yousaf Zai appreciated the efforts of RCCI that led to the successful launching of ‘Made in Pakistan Expo’ going to take place in Kabul next year. The ambassador said that Pakistan and Afghanistan enjoy good cordial relations and expressed the confidence that with further co-operation in trade and business
these ties would further cemented. He said that current volume of trade in the region is 4.5% which could be enhanced to 20% with concerted efforts.
The Afghan envoy underlined the importance of Afghan trade with Pakistan and said that Afghan Government terms its economic ties with Pakistan as most vital ones without which they could not imagine their future. He also emphasised on not only political relations but people to people contacts for flourishing business ties.
RCCI President Mian Humayun Parvez thanked the Afghan ambassador for extending support and cooperation in holding such exhibitions. He said that the Rawalpindi Chamber was playing pivotal role in enhancing trade and business ties with its neighbouring country Afghanistan. The RCCI president urged traders to explore the regional markets in order to take benefit from the resources available to them. “Our traders can increase the bilateral trade relations between Afghanistan and Pakistan”, he expressed the hope.
He went on saying that there was great vacuum for investment in the fields of leather goods, gems and jewellery, textile and handicrafts etc where traders can explore new avenues. He said that the chamber was playing its key role in promoting trade activities with regional and international markets. The chamber’s prime objective was to promote trade along with improving business ties with Afghanistan and other neighbouring countries, he concluded.
On this occasion, Exhibition Committee vice chairman Khursheed Barlas briefed
the participants about the objectives of ‘Made in Pakistan’ exhibition and highlighted achievements made so far in the first three exhibitions.
A video presentation was also shown to the audience depicting the Kabul and Tajikistan exhibitions and their splendid success.
