Education sector prime focus of govt, says Dr Mukhtar

A 5-day capacity building training workshop on Project Planning, Implementation and Evaluation concluded at a local hotel here, says press release.
The workshop was funded by TESP-HEC and organised in collaboration with IMSciences.
Chief guest of closing ceremony, Higher Education Commission (HEC) Chairman Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed said that our prime objective to fund and support such trainings was to enhance the higher education institutions’ staff professional capacity for better performance in line with the minimum required standards by using modern tools and techniques at workplace. He said that these trainings are certainly invaluable for participants to get the real-time exposure from field experts. He added that previously education was neglected sector however; the incumbent government is particularly focusing on education sector to increase the overall literacy rate and education quality for all segments of society. He said this training programme in collaboration with IMSciences Peshawar was started considering their expertise in specialized trainings and our goal is to train 3500 HEC and HEIs staff from all across the country to augment their professional abilities and skills. He stressed on participants to materialize the knowledge they learned during the training sessions at their workplace to perform in appropriate way. He also hailed the sponsor agencies like World Bank for their contribution in socio-economic uplift of Pakistan particularly in the education sector.
HEC Director Media & Publications Aayesha Ikram and TESP Programme Coordinator Asad Khan also attended the ceremony.
The participants hailed the IMSciences and Training Officer Bilal Ahmad for conducting the training in conducive environment.
Training project coordinator, Dr. Usman Ghani in his opening remarks apprised about the overall training programme conducted by the IMScinces in different phases and trained about 1000 plus teaching and non-teaching staff of HEIs. He thanked to HEC for support and trust to engage IMSciences for conducting series of training workshops. Amongst the participants, Yasir Iqbal Paracha, Assistant Director (P) University of Agriculture, Peshawar said that the training was virtually a knowledge booster and the resource persons imparted useful information. HEC should continue such trainings so the people working in education sector would shine their professional abilities as per the modern trends in practice.
