The third annual reunion of Anglo Arabic Public Secondary School Rawalpindi was an eventful ceremony where amidst hugs and laughter, the boys and girls revived the old memories cherishing those wonderful moments of their teen life.
A large number of old students of the Anglo Arabic Higher Secondary School came from across the country to attend the ceremony and cherished the old memories. They had ample opportunity to reconnect with classmates during an elegant gala.
Taking opportunity of the reunion, the position holders of Secondary School Certificate (SSC) held under the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education – Huma Manzoor, M Zeeshan, Elaaf Arfeen, Nageena Bibi, Waleed Raza, Abdul Waqar, Maria Akhtar, Abdur Rahim -- were also awarded medals and gifts by the school administration.
The ceremony began with recitation from the Holy Quran. Young and energetic, Amna and Kinza compe`res of the evening introduced the brilliant students.
Later for the music concert, Almas Iman and Ms Komal took over the compe’ring duties and kept the spirits of the audience high with their witty remarks.
Earlier, Principal Lt Colonel (r) Tariq Hameed welcomed the guests and shed light on performance of the school in SSC examination as well as school team achievements in extracurricular activities. Martyred students of Army Public School, Peshawar were also remembered by one of the speakers who delivered a heart-warming speech.
Anglo Arabic Old Boys Association President Abdul Waheed Malik lauded the efforts of the school management particularly mentioning the role of General Secretary Old Boys Association Rizwan Khaleel Shamsi for organising this event. He also pointed out the launch of Anglo Arabic College. He also urged the students to dedicate their time for study so that at the next reunion they should also be proud of their achievements.
The students presented a skit a scene from Mughal era was portrayed in a witty manner. Shahzada Saleem was scoled by his father Mughal Emperor Akbar for openly romancing with Anarkali and later on a suggestion by his deputy was sent in present era Anglo Arabic School. In the play it was portrayed that after spending five years of her life, Anarkali, who at the time of romance with Shahzada Saleem was a healthy girl, had turned in a nervous student of Anglo Arabic School and forgotten everything about romance fumbling with her notes and assignments.
The management team had also prepared witty video making fun of every school administration as well as old boys association office-bearers, which was applauded by the audience. Earlier, some old colleagues who had died in past many years were also paid homage by the school administration in form of a pictures collage.
Later on a music and cultural show was held in which students and professional singers exhibited their talent and entertained the audience. The crowd loudly cheered dance performances by youngsters.
