CDA to carry out operation against encroachments in markets

Islamabad The Capital Development Authority (CDA) will carry out an operation against encroachments markets across the board in collaboration with the traders community as these are not only defacing the natural beauty of Islamabad but also affecting business activities. The Capital Development Authority (CDA) will carry out an operation against encroachments markets across the board in collaboration with the traders community as these are not only defacing the natural beauty of Islamabad but also affecting business activities.
This was stated by Member Administration and Estate Amer Ali Ahmed during a meeting with a delegation of traders of different markets of Islamabad.
Traders informed the CDA member administration about the problems being faced by them.
Amer Ali Ahmed said that the CDA is committed to provide quality services to the residents of Islamabad and following a comprehensive plan aimed to facilitate the residents of Islamabad in general and traders community in particular.
He said that all major roads of the city are being revamped and improvement of all 'marakiz,' particularly the Class-III shopping centres, is the prime focus of this consolidated programme.
He said that in order to make the programme a success, top management of the authority is paying surprise visits to different markets and 'marakiz' of the city and ensuring on the spot action. He said that carpeting of roads, improvement and upgradation of footpaths and provision of proper streetlights in different markets are being ensured.
He said that in order to solve the longstanding parking issue in Islamabad, two parking plazas in Markaz F-7 are near completion which will be operational in a few days while more parking lots are being explored so that this issue could be resolved in an effective manner.
He informed the meeting that during the Islamabad uplift campaign, the CDA Environment Wing has been tasked to beautify and decorate all entry points of Islamabad and in this context all median strips and greenbelts along the entry roads are being decorated with ornamental trees and fascinating landscaping.
He said that during the uplift programme, special attention has been given to the sectors of 'I' series so that these could be brought parallel to the posh sectors like E-7 and the sectors of F series. He directed the Health Services director to ensure that the checklist has been provided to all food outlets of the city so that quality food items could be ensured to the residents of the capital.
He said that housing societies where CDA building bylaws are applicable have been directed to provide all basic services to the residents otherwise action would be taken under the law.
