Like past, the female students proved to be too good for the boys, grabbing first three positions in the Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) Part-II Annual Examination 2015 conducted by the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE).
According to the result announced here on Thursday, Maha Zainab (Pre-Medical Group), a student of Army Public School & College for Girls, Sher Shah Road,
Multan Cantonment (Roll No 529237), bagged overall first position by obtaining 1047 marks.
The Pre-Medical Group students Ujala Abdul Rashid (Roll No 525200), a student of PAEC Model College, Nilore, and Seerat Fatima, a student of Punjab College, 92 Nazimuddin Road, F-8/4, Islamabad (Roll No 525387), shared the second position by obtaining 1031 marks. The third position in the examination was clinched by Ayesha Nasrullah, a student of the Punjab College, 92 Nazimuddin Road, F-8/4 (Roll No 525363), by getting 1030 marks.
In the Pre-Engineering Group, Abdullah Ashfaq (Roll No 541963) of the OPF Boys College, H-8/4, Islamabad, shared first position with Fasiha Binte Zafar (Roll No 556942), a student of the Punjab College of Information Technology for Women, Sargodha, by obtaining 1023 marks.
The second position in the Pre-Engineering Group was obtained by Syed Muhammad Kumail (Roll No 544776) of the Army Public School and College for Boys, Rawalpindi Cantonment, and Muhammad Umer Farooq Awan (Roll No 545092) of the PAEC Model College for Boys, Chashma District, Mianwali, shared second position by getting 1022 marks. The third position was grabbed by Uzair Ahmad (Roll No 544162), a student of the Army Public College, Attock Cantonment, by getting 1019 marks.
In Science General Group, Fatima Farooq Marwat (Roll No 576539) of the Bahria College, Naval Complex, E-8, Islamabad, obtained first position by securing 978 marks. The second position in this group was grabbed by Mehwish Siddique, (Roll No 576937) of the Punjab College, 92 Nazimuddin Road, F-8/4, Islamabad, by getting 958 marks. She was followed by Sahar Humayun (Roll No 576534) of the Bahria College, Naval Complex, E-8, Islamabad, by getting 956 marks.
In Commerce Group, Sumiya Khurshid Awan (Roll No 590405) of the Punjab College, 92 Nazimudding Road, F-8/4, Islamabad, secured 956 marks to attain first position. Rishi Kaynat (Roll No 590765) of the Indus College of Commerce, The Mall, Wah Cantonment, remained second in the group by achieving 948 marks. The third position in the group was obtained by Barka Saleem, (Roll No 590716) of the Punjab College of Commerce, 661 Peshawar Road, Rawalpindi Cantonment, by getting 944 marks.
The overall pass percentage of both regular and private students remained 73.51%. After the announcement of the result, Minister of State for Education Baligh ur Rahman congratulated the position-holders. He said the students excelled due to the hard work and efforts of their teachers.
The minister advised those students who could not pass the examination to work hard to succeed in the next attempt. “One should not lose faith and courage and work hard to achieve success,” Baligh ur Rahman said. The supplementary examination of the HSSC will start from November 3 this year.
