Kundi completes his tenure at HEC

Islamabad: Professor Dr. Mansoor Akbar Kundi has completed his tenure at the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Secretariat as member (academics).
He also held the acting charge of HEC executive director. He will report back to his parent institution, the University of Balochistan, Quetta, where his retirement is due on August 30, 2015, at the age of superannuation. He had joined the HEC in April 2014.
A farewell ceremony for Dr. Kundi was hosted at the HEC, Islamabad, which was attended by all staff members. Speaking on the occasion, HEC Chairman Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed appreciated the contribution of Dr. Kundi during his stint as executive director.
A former vice chancellor of Gomal University, Dr. Kundi has over 30 years of teaching and administrative experience in the higher education sector. Having MS degree from University of Arizona and PhD from University of Balochistan, Dr. Kundi earlier served in different capacities not only in Pakistani universities, but also in universities of Turkey. He has written a number of books as well as published research articles in journals of international repute, and has represented Pakistan in various academic and research events worldwide.
