Rawalpindi: Justice Tariq Mehmood of the Lahore High Court (LHC), Rawalpindi Bench, has directed the Anti-Terrorist Court (ATC) No-1 to present full record of a kidnap-for-ransom case before the court on July 28.
Applicant Muhammad Iqbal, through his lawyer Khaliq Hussain Bhatti, told the court that on February 27, 2013, Haji Ali Akbar, Safeer Akbar, Jahangir Akbar and others kidnapped him and his 8-year-old daughter Qurat-ul-Ain from Qadeer Road. The kidnappers demanded Rs5,000,000 as ransom. During recording of statements, 8-year-old Qurat-ul-Ain became confused before the judge of the Anti-Terrorist Court (ATC) No-1, Rawalpindi. Due to it, the court dismissed the plea of the applicant.
LHC Judge Justice Tariq Mehmood, admitting the plea, ordered the ATC to present full record of the case on July 28 (today).
