Islamabad: Minister for the Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) Usman Ibrahim has claimed the standard of education at Islamabad model colleges for boys and girls has imrpoved.
“In order to uplift the standard of education at the capital city’s all government educational institutions, including model colleges, the Federal Directorate of Education improve or revise the policies according to the need of the students from time to time so that they are able to cope with the modern day challenges. As a result, the standard of education in educational institutions has considerably improved,” the minister told this correspondent lately.
The minister said annual results of the schools were monitored and analyzed, while reasons of poor examination results were identified before every effort was made for improvement.He said schools showing good results in examinations were duly appreciated.
Usman Ibrahim said the FDE conducted centralised annual examination for Class-V and middle standard scholarship examination, while scholarships were awarded to students on merit on the basis of exam results. He said as a pilot project, O and A level classes were introduced at the IMCB F-8/4 and IMCG 1-10/4 with the minimum possible fee.
The minister said a comprehensive scheme ‘Face-lifting of Model Colleges’ had been launched, while the National Curriculum 2006 had been implemented at all levels in the FDE educational institutions.“This new curriculum is designed in accordance with the latest knowledge. It will help students meet the challenges of modern world,” he said.
