The Federal Directorate of Education has asked all staff members of Islamabad’s government schools and colleges to remain in the city until the local body elections slated to take place on July 25 are over.
The employees of the public sector educational institutions are appointed electoral staff whenever there’re elections in the country.
According to a circular issued by FDE deputy director Zafar Iqbal Yousafzai, in order to help the Election Commission of Pakistan conduct the imminent polls, the staff members of all government education institutions, both vocational and non-vocational, are required not to leave Islamabad until local body elections in the city end.
“Heads of all educational institutions are to ensure the availability of their respective staff members at the shortest possible time as and when their services are required,” read the circular issued after the approval of the FDE director general.
