The Federal Directorate of Education has alerted the educational institutions overseen by it to fake calls for advance payments for installation of CCTV cameras.
“A mafia is making fake calls to principals (of Islamabad’s all government schools) on behalf of government officials demanding transfer of amount (of money) in advance through branchless banking service or banks for CCTV camera installation or miscellaneous purpose,” said FDE assistant director (IT) Talat Saeed in a formal communication, a copy of which is available with ‘The News’.
The director asked principals of all local government schools to consider all such calls or demands for payment as fake and formally inform the Cyber Crime Wing of the Federal Investigation Agency without delay.
