The Islamabad Model College for Girls (IMCG), F-7/2 has conferred degrees on 212 graduates and 76 postgraduates during its 44th convocation.
Quaid-i-Azam University Vice Chancellor Professor Javed Ashraf was the chief guest on the occasion.
He gave away medals, prizes and degrees to students.
Professor Javed Ashraf said he was proud to mention that a majority of the college’s teachers were the graduates of his university.
He congratulated graduates and urged them to have faith in themselves, set goals for themselves and work hard to achieve them to lead a successful life.
On the occasion, the college’s principal, Professor Talat Samiullah, said her was the city’s oldest yet prestigious educational institution.
“IMCG came into being in 1967 as an intermediate college with 150 students and 15 lecturers. However, it has become a postgraduate college in half a century only with total enrolments reaching over 4,000. We offer degrees in various disciplines of science, humanities and commerce,” she said.
The principal said the college was declared the best college of the year for the 2011-2013 academic year and that it secured first position in the Inter-Board of Gymnastics the same year.
