Islamabad: Chief Justice (CJ) Islamabad High Court (IHC) Justice Muhammad Anwar Khan Kasi here on Monday admitted federal government’s bail cancellation application for regular hearing against grant of post-arrest bail to an accused former chairman of Employee’s Old-Age Benefit Institution (EOBI), Zafar Iqbal Gondal.
Islamabad High Court bench issued notices to the Gondal and other respondents and put off the hearing with date in office.
Federal government through a Deputy Attorney General (DAG) Fazlur Rehman Niazi has filed this bail cancellation application against the order dated April 14 where Justice Noorul Haq N Qureshi of the IHC had granted bail to Gondal.
Former chairman of Employee’s Old-Age Benefit Institution, Zafar Iqbal Gondal is the main accused in multi billion EOBI land scam and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in September 2014 had arrested him after his protective bail was rejected by the apex Supreme Court of Pakistan.
