The students of Jack & Jill Montessori and High School celebrated World Health Day here on Wednesday.
‘From Farm to Plate, Make Food Safe’ being the slogan for 2015, the Jackonites tried to come as close to the slogan as possible by tracing the journey of food from its source to their dining table.
The focus of the day was how good health throughout life can help people lead full and productive lives and be a resource for their families and communities.
The World Health Day is a global campaign inviting everyone from global leaders to the public in all countries. To address emerging health issues, this day is marked to raise awareness to initiate collective actions to protect people’s health and well being.
An impressive presentation was organised by the School to highlight the need for a healthy lifestyle which is necessary for a healthy life.
The Jackonites in their speeches highlighted the daily rituals of cleanliness, as well as the inclusion of healthy food that plays an integral part in shaping a healthy life of an individual.
Tahmeena Malik, principal of the Jack & Jill School, addressing the children, said that this initiative seeks to stimulate a global movement, dressing the core issue of health. “Health not necessarily means a good physical condition but it also means an induction of a healthy lifestyle which in the long run adds quality to one’s life,” she said. The children displayed badges with this year’s slogan for World Health Day.
