Students urged to work hard for success in life

Anglo Arabic School Annual Day

The speakers at the annual prize distribution ceremony of Anglo Arabic Public Secondary School, Satellite Town, Rawalpindi, made it clear upon the students that there are no shortcuts to success. “It is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure.”
The speakers, at the annual day which was dedicated in memory of martyrs of the Army Public School, Peshawar, said that students should keep their dreams alive and understand that in order to achieve anything in life they should have faith and belief in themselves. They said that for success in life hard work, determination, and dedication always pay the dividend.
All students of the branch participated in the annual day celebrations, which comes as a sigh of relief for those who only scrap through to the next class, while a moment of delight for those who bag top positions and distinctions. The annual result day is a day of joy and relaxation till it is time to get back to the grind! The event began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran and a Na’at.
Old Boys Association General Secretary Rizwan Khalil Shamsi as well as other members of the association graced the ceremony as guests of honour. Principal Lieutenant Colonel (r) Tariq Hamid presented a summary of the academic and co-curricular activities of the school.
The principal in his welcome speech praised the faculty members for their determination and devotion in imparting education, which was evident from the high percentage of result, as Junior Section (96.5%), Boys Wing (94.2%) and Girls Wing (96.6%) stood respectively. He also congratulated the parents for their role in success of their kids, while urging those who lagged behind to pick up their socks and work hard this coming year.
Later, Old Boys Association General Secretary Rizwan Khalil Shamsi addressed the audience, highlighting the efforts made over past years in evolving the school into a role model for society. He also mentioned security measures adopted by the school particularly in the aftermath of the Army Public School, Peshawar, attack on December 16, 2014. “During past few months, the parents have witnessed as what sort of measures have been adopted to ensure security of their children in school,” he added. Rizwan Khalil Shamsi also pointed out that the security team of Punjab government which visited the school in the aftermath of Peshawar carnage also declared the security system adopted by the school as exemplary.
He also mentioned the success story of schoolchildren in extracurricular activities besides announcing start of an SMS service for providing information to the parents about their kids studies and activities in the school.
While talking in reference to Pakistan Day, he said children should realise the importance of Lahore Resolution of 1940, which led to creation of Pakistan in 1947.
Urging students to work hard, he also announced that the school will start classes of Pre First Year from April 15, 2015.
In the end, the prize distribution ceremony was held. The position holders were given shields and certificates. In order to create a sense of competition among teachers as well as other staff members, best teachers in arts, science and junior section were also awarded shields and certificates.
