The delegates from the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW), NC, USA, Dr. Cara Cilano, Dr. Caroline Clements, and Dr. Daniel Masters met with faculty and students of the Department of English at International Islamic University (IIU), says a press release.
The meeting was a part of four-day visit to the IIU aimed at exploring a collaborative model in teaching, professional development, research, and community engagement for the three-year UNCW-IIU partnership.
Talking to the faculty, Dr. Cara said that the partnership would not only benefit the students and faculty as individuals but also both their institutions, and at a broader level, the countries. Further, the IIU faculty and the students shared their research interests and current projects with the delegates.
Addressing the meeting, Dr. Munawar Iqbal Gondal, dean of Faculty of Languages and Literature, expressed his gratitude to the guests, and hoped that the partnership would be productive for the academic development of the IIUI students, and for the professional development of the faculty. Dr. Munazza Yaqoob, chairperson Department of English, thanked the guests from the UNCW, and advised her colleagues and students to benefit from the program by actively participating in the conferences, workshops, and training sessions, and by establishing online connections with the colleagues from the UNCW.
