Islamabad: Dr. Muhammad Qasim Bughio, Chairman, Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL), has expressed deep grief over the death of renowned Urdu poetess Ada Jaffri.
Dr. Muhammad Qasim Bughio said that Ada Jaffri’s demise is a great loss to Urdu literature. He said that Ada Jaffri’s books ‘Main Saaz Dhoondti Rahi’, ‘Ghazala Tum to Waqif Ho’, ‘Harf-i-Shanasi’, ‘Safar Baqi’ and ‘Jo Rahi Sau Be Khabari Rahi’ are a great asset for Urdu literature. She wrote her autobiography with progressive thinking. She was the recipient of several awards, including the ‘Kamal-e-Fun Award’ and ‘Baba-i-Urdu Molvi Abdul Haq Award’ from PAL.
PAL has been publishing a book ‘Ada Jaffri: Life & Work’ under the series of ‘Pakistani Adab Ke Memar’.
Dr. Muhammad Qasim Bughio, Chairman PAL, and Zahida Parveen, Director General PAL, prayed for the salvation for the soul of Ada Jafri and patience for her siblings.
