Islamabad: Minister of State for Capital Administration and Development Division Barrister Usman Ibrahim on Thursday approved the release of Rs180 million for the Federal Directorate of Education.
The funds will be used for increasing the height of boundary walls or building new ones at educational institutions and fixing razor wire and installing CCTV cameras on them.
The minister directed the FDE to use the funds transparently besides taking the recommended security measures at the capital city’s schools overseen by it.
He also asked the directorate’s project engineering team to indicate further cost estimate of the remaining educational institutions without delay.
“This will ensure the release of additional funds as we can’t make any compromise on the foolproof security of educational institutions,” he said.
The minister said the division had zero tolerance policy for any necessary hurdles to the executions of defined perimeters for government educational institutions in the Islamabad Capital Territory.
