The Capital Development Authority (CDA) is carrying out carpeting and patch work of different major roads, service roads and crossings across the Federal Capital to facilitate the residents and improve the flow of traffic in the city. Maintenance and patch work is in progress at fast pace and the CDA’s Machinery Pool Organization (MPO) remained busy during the official holyday to complete the task at the earliest as directed by the Chairman CDA, Maroof Afzal.
CDA chairman has deputed the senior officers of the Authority to monitor the ongoing carpeting and patch work. The MPO Directorate apprised that carpeting work at the Faizabad portion of Expressway has been completed. Whereas work on the extension of road at Sector I-8, Shakarparian crossing is in progress. Every effort is being made to complete the work on a dedicated lane being constructed here to facilitate the students and the visitors of the schools in the area by the Sunday evening. MPO Directorate informed during the inspection by the senior officers that rehabilitation work in different areas of the Federal Capital is being carried out as many of the roads were damaged during the rains and some other roads needed necessary patch work to ensure smooth flow of traffic.
CDA chairman has directed that the internal resources be utilized for carrying out the maintenance, carpeting and patch work of the roads and service roads and the relevant formations of the authority should collaborate their efforts for early execution of the work. He said that CDA is committed to provide improved facilities to the residents and all possible resources would be utilized in this regard. He also directed the Environment Wing of the Authority to improve the medians, green belts and flowering on different roads, avenues and in the residential sectors as well as the commercial areas of the Federal Capital.
