Rawalpindi: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested two men based in Gujranwala and Lahore involved in stamping fake visas of USA, UK, China, Malaysia and other countries and recovered fake documents from their possession, the FIA sources said.
FIA (Crimes) Director Inam Ghani confirmed the report when contacted saying that upon receiving information, the FIA team arrested Shahid Farooq, hailing from Gujranwala, who applied for the US visa at Islamabad. He said that visas of UK, Malaysia, China and other countries were already stamped on his passport, which were found fake when confirmed from those countries.
Ghani said that the accused disclosed that two agents — Mohammad Yaseen and Mohammad Afzal — were involved in stamping fake visas. The FIA team later arrested Mohammad Yaseen, while the other agent, Mohammad Afzal, was yet to be arrested. A team has been sent to Lahore to hunt him down, he concluded.
