Islamabad: The Motorway Police have seized 316 bottles and tins of imported liquor from a car heading to Islamabad from Lahore, the spokesman for NH&MP said.
Two officers of the Motorway Police, SPO Muhammad Aslam and PO Taufiq-ul-Hassan, were on routine patrolling on Motorway (M-2) when they intercepted the liquor-laden car.
The officers seized 277 bottles (210 litres) and 39 tin packs of imported liquor from a Toyota Corolla 2D car bearing registration number (LXH-6215) near Sial Morr.
The liquor was kept in the trunk of the car. The car was travelling from Lahore to Islamabad. The accused escaped from the scene taking advantage of bad weather conditions and darkness.
