NBF to develop standard textbooks for students

National Book Foundation has devised a comprehensive plan for developing, printing and providing up to the mark textbooks to the students this year, says a press release.
On this occasion, well known educationist, former vice chancellor of Allama Iqbal Open University and Chairman Pakistan Education Foundation Prof Dr. Shoukat Ali Siddiqui expressed his views and appreciated the role of NBF as it is designing and developing books on international standard.
NBF Managing Director Prof. Dr. Inamul-Ul-Haq Javeid briefed the participants of the meeting held here in the Head Office Islamabad. “For forth-coming academic session, NBF has been re-designing and re-developing the textbooks for students of Grade-I to Grade-XII and intends to provide these to the Federal Directorate of Education for distribution among students well in time,” he said. The MD further said that these textbooks have been written by eminent authors and subject specialists as NBF had maintained and ensured the quality publication with timely delivery of them to FDE.
Prof Dr. Shoukat Ali Siddiqui, Advisor Prof Dr. Attash Durrani, Prof. M. Saeed of Pakistan Education Foundation, Prof. Syed Maqbool Hussain, Dr. Shafqat Ali Janjua of Curriculum Wing, Secretary NBF Aftab Soomro and Director NBF Jahan Khan Jamro attended the meeting for discussing the issue.
The important matter of getting feed-back of textbooks provided to the students with a feasibility tests was discussed in detail and tests would be conducted later in the mid session in this regard. The experts were informed that standardisation process of textbooks development and feasibility tests for improving the textbooks will be held in near future. It was told that at least, two times field testing sample surveys will be administered for new standardised textbooks.
