The government is planning to establish National Materials Science Research Institute with a centralised supercomputing facility for computational materials science and condensed matter physics.

 

This was stated by the Chairperson Pakistan Council of Science and Technology in Islamabad.

 

She said that there is need of conducting research on all classes of materials including hard and soft materials‚ metals‚ inter-metallic‚ organic and inorganic semiconductors‚ polymers‚ composite materials‚ biomedical materials‚ and vitreous materials. She said that it is necessary that the latest equipment and research facilities are made available to the researchers.
