Islamabad: The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) members have elected the new president, vice president and executive committee in its 134th Council meeting.


The meeting was held at the PMDC Secretariat in Islamabad where the members elected from all over the country participated.


The newly-elected council members took oath and passed a unanimous move to elect Vice Chancellor Dow University of Health Sciences Professor Masood Hameed as President and Professor Muhammad Owais of King Edward University as Vice President of the Council.


All PMDC members congratulated the previous Executive Committee on holding free and fair council elections.


All the members expressed confidence in the new president, vice president and executive committee.


Speaking on the occasion, Professor Masood Hameed said he will try all his efforts to make PMDC one of the world’s best medical regulatory authorities while adding that he will equip PMDC with the state of art technology to promote the image of the council.
