The government has laid down the foundation for making public sector R&D institutions self-sustainable through its recently launched Science, Technology and Innovation Policy, said Federal Minister for Science and Technology, Mir Changez Khan Jamali.

In a press briefing he said that the policy is a step in the right direction that would serve the long lasting purpose of reducing financial burdens of the government.

“In Pakistan, commercialisation of scientific developments and innovations has always been a difficult task due to financial constraints confronted by the public sector. However, PCRWR is extending commendable services in the research and development of water resources,” he said.
