There had been a war of nerves going on between the Rawalpindi Police and Taji Khokhar, but the police are gradually trapping Taji Khokhar and his men nominated in Sabra Bibi murder case.
A high-level investigation team, comprising Mohammad Amlash, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Headquarters Lahore, and Raja Basharat, District Police Officer (DPO) Gujrat, was constituted by the chief minister Punjab for examining the case thoroughly and to ascertain the facts and to find out real culprits behind the killing.
People engaged in investigation of the case said that the team marked the loopholes and weak spots in the evidences provided by the accused party, adding that the unregistered report of the incident, lodged by the station house officer (SHO) of Koral police station, Inspector Mahboob Ahmad, claiming that the incident occurred at Service Road near Fazaia Colony falling in the jurisdiction of Koral Police Station, was specially examined and marked the points negating the realities.
The sources said that it was noticed that the unregistered report of Koral Police Station said that Sabra Bibi was shifted to BBH in a white double cabin vehicle but the CCTV footage, negated the claim as it revealed that she was taken to the Emergency Ward of the BBH in a black Mercedes.
The investigation team would grill the police official who shot a fire with his pistol at the black Mercedes at 10:17:20 a.m. after Sabra Bibi was loaded on the stretcher and moved to the Emergency Ward in the presence of a traffic warden while another uniformed cop appeared from the back side and shot a fire at the car at 10:17:50 after 30 seconds of the first shot, in the presence of the same traffic warden, sources said and added that the team would investigate the matter why two cops shot at the car and who asked them to do so. The investigating team seems to be taking the case towards its logical end.
