The Senate Standing Committee on Capital Administration and Development Friday recommended that the Capital Development Authority (CDA) be placed under the purview of the CAD ministry.

Currently, the CDA functions under the purview of Cabinet Division and prior to that it had been working under the Interior Ministry.

The committee met here under the chair of Jamshaid Dasti and also suggested the same for the Islamabad Sports Board and other such departments just to make them answerable to the Standing Committee on CAD. The committee took serious notice of absence of the CDA chairman as the body could not discuss the projects undertaken by the CDA. On the report of a senior journalist, the committee asked the CAD secretary to submit a report on the curriculum taught in the private schools and objectionable activities.

The meeting was attended by CAD Minister Nazar Mohammed Gondal, Mehreen Razzaq Bhutto, Asghar Ali Jatt, Bushra Rehman, Sabeen Rizvi, Mahboobullah Jan, Hamid Saeed Kazmi, Tariq Rasheed, Seema Jameeli, Arraish Kumar and Israr Tareen.
