Two minors — a 2-year-old boy and his 5-year-old sister — were killed, while their parents wounded critically when their house in a ‘Kachi Basti’ near Gulzar-e-Qaid, caved in during heavy rain in the wee hours of Saturday.

According to the Rescue-1122 and police, the dead bodies and injured people were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital. The mud-house collapsed with a bang at 5 a.m. during the heavy rain when the poor family members including Yahya Gul, 40, son of Awwal Khan, his wife along with their two kids, Nasima and Aurangzeb, were sleeping after ‘Sehri’, the Rescue-1122 said.

Locals rushed to the scene followed by rescuers of Rescue-1122 and pulled out the people buried under the mud and took them to the hospital in critical condition but the two minors were taken out dead, while Yahya and his wife were shifted to the DHQ Hospital in critical condition. Yahya Khan, a labourer, hails from Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
