Duty Judge Ahmed Hasan Ranjha here on Monday extended physical remand for a day of three cops of Islamabad Police for their alleged role in helping a murder accused escape from the District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ).

 

The judge ordered police to produce the cops again in the court today (Tuesday).Ruhullah Khan, allegedly involved in the killing of former attorney general of Pakistan Sardar Khan, was brought to the District Headquarters Hospital from Adiala Jail for treatment. Three cops of Islamabad Police — Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Ali Syed, Head Constable Muhammad Yaqoob and Constable Tahir Mehmood — were assigned the task of his security, but the accused managed to escape from the hospital in shackles.The Ganjmandi Police Station had registered a case against the three cops.
