Special Price Magistrate Imtiaz Ahmed Khan Khichi on Monday sent six profiteers to Adiala Jail for overcharging from customers at ‘Ramazan Sasta Bazaar’ near Nawaz Sharif Park.

He registered an FIR under Section 3/7 against Rohail Abbasi, Muhammad Faisal, Arsalan Ahmed, Amjad Hussain, Muhammad Sajid and Faisal Jamal. He also imposed Rs8,000 fine on profiteers Iqrar Ahmed, Muhammad Arsalan and Muhammad Amjad and cancelled two stalls. The profiteers were selling fruits, vegetables, meat, chicken and other food items at higher rates.

Imtiaz Ahmed Khan Khichi told ‘The News’ that they would not spare any profiteer at any cost. “Customers should complain to us if any shopkeeper at ‘Ramazan Sasta Bazaar’ or in the open market is involved in selling items at higher rates,” he said.
