Islamabad: The Pakistan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (PPMA) has expressed serious concerns against the procedure involved in the preparation of the draft of the Drug Regulatory Authority Bill and has demanded of the government to take PPMA on board in preparation of the bill.
A press release issued here on Tuesday informs that the draft of the DRA Bill was to be finalised in the meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee for Health, which was held in the National Assembly. The PPMA chairman was not invited in that meeting even though some non-elected persons were allegedly invited. “PPMA contacted Dr. Firdous Ashiq, Farid Ullah Khan and chief executive of the DRA Dr. Qazi Abdul Saboor and urged them to take PPMA on board regarding preparation of the bill,” the press release states.
