Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) here on Tuesday released CDA Planning Director General Ghulam Sarwar Sindhu, directing him to submit a written apology before the court till July 13.
The IHC bench on Monday had sent the said CDA official to Adiala Jail under the section ‘5’ of contempt of court act 2003 and initiated contempt of court proceedings against him for his misbehaviour with the court. The court on Monday had observed that the mannerism of Ghulam Sarwar Sindhu has been arrogant and he kept staring at the court with anger.
Sindhu was produced before the court on Tuesday and his lawyer told the court that whatever his client did was unintentional.
In one another matter of a missing spokesperson of Hizbut Tehrir (HT) Naveed Butt, Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui of the IHC told the SP investigation and SHO Liaqatabad Police Station, Lahore, that there report is based at surmises and conjunctures. The court directed the Punjab police officials to produce Naveed Butt before the court on July 16.
The court has been hearing in the matter of Sadia Rahat, wife of Naveed Butt, who alleged that her husband was kidnapped by the intelligence agencies, who later confined him at some undisclosed location.
On the last hearing of the case, the Liaquatabad Station House Officer (SHO), Khursheed Alam told the court that as per investigation, no one kidnapped Naveed Butt.
