Girls outshined boys by bagging first positions in both humanities and science groups of the Secondary School Certificate II (SSC-II) Annual Examination 2012 held under the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE).

 

According to the result announced by FBISE Controller Examinations Aslam Gul here on Thursday, in the Science Group Urooj Mustafa (Roll Number 146058) of the Jinnah Education System, Taxila Cantonment, secured first position by securing 1024 marks. She was followed by Moiz Rehan (Roll Number 102360) of the Islamabad Model College for Boys, Sector G-10/4, Islamabad, who got second position in the Science Group by securing 1022 marks. Third position went to Sana Shahid (Roll Number 151371) of the Garrison Academy for Girls, Sarfaraz Rafique Road, Lahore Cantonment, by securing 1020 marks.

 

In the Humanities Group, Ifra Urooj (Roll Number 187023) of the Wah Islamic School of Excellence, Model Town, Wah Cantonment, bagged first position by securing 946 marks. Aziz ul Haq (Roll Number 170049) of the Institute of Islamic Science, Satra Meel, Islamabad, clinched second position in the Humanities Group by obtaining 945 marks. Muhammad Usman (Roll Number 170054) also from the Institute of Islamic Science, Satra Meel, Islamabad, got third position by securing 932 marks.

 

As many as 49,692 regular students appeared in the SSC-II examination out of which 45,206 candidates achieved success, showing pass percentage of 90.97%.

 

While 14,635 private and ex-students appeared in the examination out of which 7,120 were declared successful thus showing pass percentage of 48.05%. The overall pass percentage of regular, private and ex-students stood at 81.34%.

 

This year, 21 unfair means cases were reported. A judicious procedure was adopted to decide these cases and every effort was made to ensure that personal hearing was allowed to all concerned. As many as 18 cases were decided and a notification on decisions taken in these cases was printed in the end of the result gazette.

 

The candidates wanting to improve their grades or marks could do so by reappearing in up to two subjects of their choice or the entire examination in current course within a period of one year after the announcement of the result.

 

The Secondary School Certificate Supplementary Examination 2012 will start on September 12.
