DIG Investigations Sultan Ch has constituted two special teams to investigate the killing of a three-year-old girl in Gujjarpura police limits on Sunday.
One police team has been constituted under the supervision of DSP, Mughalpura Usman Haider, and the other under the headship of Inspector, CIA Civil Lines, Mian Shafqat Mahmood. The DIG directed the officers to use modern technology to trace the killers and arrest them.
Meanwhile, the victim, who was found murdered in her neighbour’s roof, was buried in a local graveyard on Monday. A large number of people including the victim’s family, locals and relatives participated in the funeral.
Moving scenes were witnessed before and after the funeral. The locals of the area also registered their protest and demanded an immediate arrest of the killer(s). PML (N), Lahore President, Malik Pervaiz, Chairperson Child Welfare and Protection Bureau Saba Sadiq, DIG Investigation Lahore and SP CIA Umar Virk visited the house of the victim and assured them of justice. Initial post-mortem could not ascertain the cause of death. Police have sent the body parts of the victim to Punjab Forensic Science Agency for examination. SP Investigation Civil Lines Arfan Samu said that the initial post-mortem report is unclear about cause of death. He said that they were investigating the case keeping in view different aspects in mind.
