LAHORE
The Lahore High Court on Tuesday directed the Punjab government’s counsel to present all four police personnel deployed for the security of Ayesha Ahad Malik, self-proclaimed wife of PML-N MNA Hamza Shahbaz.
The court was hearing a petition of Ms Malik against the government for not providing her security despite the court’s order as, what she claimed, she had threats to her life. Her counsel stated that the court had ordered the government to deploy four police personnel on the security of his client. However, he said, the government ignored the order and deployed only one personnel. A provincial law officer rejected the contention of the petitioner and said four personnel were deputed as directed by the court. At this, the court asked the law officer to present the personnel deployed on the security of the petitioner. The court would resume hearing today (Wednesday).
