On the completion of 100 years of teaching Urdu language in Turkey’s Istanbul University, senior faculty members from Punjab University’s Oriental College represented Pakistan at an international symposium organised by Istanbul University.
According to a press release, Punjab University Dean Faculty of Oriental Learning Prof Dr Ismatullah Zahid, Prof Dr Muhammad Kamran, Dr Zia-ul-Hasan and Dr Nasir Abbas Nayyer presented their papers in the conference and presided over different sessions.
Dr Kamran also read PU VC Dr Mujahid Kamran’s message according to the theme of the conference.
On this occasion, Punjab University teachers also presented special awards to the Chancellor of Istanbul University and conference organisers for the promotion of Urdu language in Turkey.
Meanwhile, Punjab University Career Counselling and Placement Centre (CCPC) organised the training workshops on “International trends and challenges for students in the future, CV writing and Job applications” at Institute of Agricultural Sciences (IAGS) and Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics (MMG).
Chairman CCPC Dr Abdul Qayyum Choudhary, Director IAGS Dr Saleem Haider, Chairperson MMG Dr Anjum Nasim Sabri and a large number of students were also present. Also, PU Examinations Department has issued the written date-sheets of BS (Four-year programme) second and fourth semesters' examination 2015.
