CM stresses modern lines to cut human losses in natural calamities

Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said there is a need for working on modern lines for minimising losses due to natural calamities so that precious human lives and properties could be saved.
The CM said the Punjab government had modernised Punjab Disaster Management Authority for minimising losses of life and property and coping with natural calamities. He said PDMA has been made fully active and vibrant.
In his message on the national day of creating awareness regarding natural calamities, Shahbaz Sharif said it is need of the hour that people should be prepared for coping with any emergency and natural calamities so that the loss of precious human lives and properties should be minimised. He stressed the need of creating awareness among the people in this regard. He said people can only be helpful along with concerned departments if they are fully aware of the situation and prepared for meeting with natural calamities.
The CM said that there is also a need of creating awareness among the children regarding natural calamities so that they should also be mentally and physically prepared for coping with natural calamities.
youth: Shahbaz Sharif has said that 60 percent population of Pakistan comprises youths which augurs well for the future of the country. He said the PML-N Punjab government had taken historic and unique measures for the empowerment of youth for ensuring a bright future for the country. He said that provision of resources for the welfare programmes of youths was useful investment.
He expressed these views while talking to a delegation of the PML-N elected representatives, here, Wednesday. The chief minister said the PML-N government was implementing the agenda of public service and provision of basic amenities to the masses in the light of its manifesto.
Trade mission: A trade mission led by Ambassador of Belgium in Pakistan Verheyden Frederic called Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, here Wednesday.
Talking to trade mission of Belgium, Shahbaz Sharif said that best friendly relations exist between Pakistan and Belgium, however, there is a need of enhancing trade cooperation between both the countries and exchange of trade delegations between the two countries should be continued regularly for this purpose. He said that Belgium is an important member country of European Union and we want to promote trade relations and increase cooperation in various sectors with Belgium. He said that we are interested in benefiting from the experience and expertise of Belgium in information technology, dairy farming, protection from floods and irrigation sectors.
Ambassador of Belgium Verheyden Frederic speaking on the occasion said that Belgium wanted to promote trade and economic cooperation with Punjab government. He said that every possible step would be taken for enhancing cooperation in various sectors.
