APS injured students to be sent abroad: adviser

Adviser to Chief Minister on Health Khawaja Salman Rafiq chaired a meeting in the Chief Minister’s Secretariat here on Wednesday to review treatment of injured students of Army Public School Peshawar.
Secretary Health Jawwad Rafiq Malik, DG Health Dr. Zahid Pervaiz, Addl. Secretary Health (Tech) Dr. Salman Shahid, Principal Allama Iqbal Medical College/ Jinnah Hospital Prof. Dr. Mehmood Shaukat and Medical Superintendent Mayo Hospital Dr. Amjad Shehzad attended the meeting, according to a handout issued here.
Prof. Mehmood Shaukat informed that medical and diagnostic reports regarding treatment of the injured children had been sent to medical consultants and surgeons abroad. He informed that recommendations of foreign medical experts for the treatment of the children would soon be received.
Kh Salman Rafiq said that as soon as the recommendations of foreign surgeons were received a comprehensive report would be submitted to the Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif. He said that if needed, the children would be sent abroad for further treatment and all expenses would be borne by the Punjab government as directed by the chief minister.
