LAHORE
A group of hooligan lawyers on Friday thrashed a man before he could attend proceedings of a case on the premises of the Lahore High Court, registered against him by a lawyer of Sharqpurr Town of Nankana district.
Naseer Ahmad, the petitioner, had to appear before the Lahore High Court when a group of lawyers stopped him and started beating him. After the torture, the litigant fell on the ground and cried for hours. Later, the petitioner’s counsel said that a lawyer, Muhammad Boota, had lodged an FIR against his client alleging that he had demanded extortion from him.
The counsel stated he also accused Naseer of threatening him but he was not involved in it. A sessions court had also ordered the police to lodge a case against him on the charges, the counsel stated. He said nobody should be stopped from knocking the door of justice.
