Punjab Minorities Affairs and Human Rights Minister Khalil Tahir Sandhu has said religious harmony and brotherhood is the need of the hour and civil society, Ulema and the media can play an important role in this regard.
Talking to minorities MPs, Khalil Tahir said being Pakistanis all minorities members had equal rights and they were playing a significant role in different sectors of life. He said Minorities Affairs and Human Rights Department was setting up committees in all districts of the province for the promotion of religious harmony and tolerance. He said followers of all religions would be given representation in these committees. He said social issues could be resolved through dialogue and it was the only means of promotion of national cohesion and to make Pakistan a welfare state in accordance with the principles of Quaid-e-Azam.
