A division bench of the Lahore High Court Wednesday gave final opportunity to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to file its reply about the bail petition of PPP’s senior leader Qasim Zia facing charges of fraud.
The bureau’s counsel requested the bench for a short adjournment saying he needed more time to present record of the case. The bench allowed the request, however, observed that it would decide the petition if the reply was not submitted on next hearing. The bench deferred the hearing till Sept 7.
cops: An Additional District and Sessions Court on Wednesday issued show-cause notices to three police officials for not complying with the court orders. The court has issued show-cause notices to the constables, including Muhammad Iqbal, Rashid Ahmed and Ilyas. It has learnt that the court had directed the police officials to appear before the court and record their statements as prosecution witnesses in a drug case pending before the court.
