Three labourers injured in roof collapse

Three labourers received injuries when a roof of an under-construction house collapsed in the Shera Kot police limits. Rescue teams reached the spot and shifted the victims to a nearby hospital. The condition of the victims was stated to be stable.
Rescue 1122: The Director, Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122), Dr Arshad Zia, while chairing a meeting of Rescue Officers at Rescue 1122 Headquarters, carried out a performance review of emergency operations in all districts of Punjab to ensure uniform standard of the service and smooth emergency services delivery without any discrimination. The emergency data showed 134,504 victims of different emergencies were rescued by Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) while conducting 55,604 rescue operations in August all over the Punjab, with average response time of 7 minutes. The meeting was attended by Deputy Director (HR) Dr Foaad Shahzad Mirza, DD (P&D) Faheem Qureshi, DD (Finance) Naeem Mukhtar, head of (Operations) Ayyaz Aslam and other senior officers.
The emergency calls to which Rescue 1122 responded to include 19061 road traffic accidents, 26,810 medical emergencies, 649 fire incidents, 2010 crimes, 158 drowning incidents, 121 building collapses, 17 explosions and 6778 miscellaneous operations. According to the statistics, out of total fire incidents, 211 fire incidents took place in Lahore, 58 in Faisalabad, 46 in Gujranwala, 61 in Rawalpindi, 43 in Multan and 18 in Sialkot. Similarly, out of total traffic accidents, some 4061 traffic accidents were reported in Lahore, 1765 in Faisalabad, 1331 in Gujranwala, 1178 in Multan and 817 in Rawalpindi. Dr Arshad Zia said Water Rescue Teams launched coordinated flood rescue operations in flood prone districts of Punjab last month and rescued over 970, 00 flood affectees. He said 26,885 flood affectees were rescued from Layyah; 24,440 from Kasur, 11,885 from Muzaffargarh, 9,460 from Rahimyar Khan, 4,826 from DG Khan and rest of the affectees were rescued from other flood prone districts. He congratulated the rescuers on performing well, who managed recent flood besides responding to routine emergencies. Dr Arshad Zia directed the District Emergency Officers (DEOs) to remain fully prepared to deal with any kind of disaster in future as Rescue 1122 has become the largest Emergency Humanitarian Service of Pakistan with infrastructure in all districts of Punjab. He directed the DEOs to focus on prevention side because mostly emergencies can be prevented by proper implementation of road safety laws, building bye-laws and by ensuring life safety codes in high rise building.
BODY FOUND: A 50-year-old man was found dead in the Data Darbar police limits. Police have removed the dead body to morgue for autopsy. A passerby informed the police about the man lying unconscious. Police reached the spot and shifted the man to a nearby hospital where the doctors pronounced him as brought dead.
