Man commits suicide after killing girl over marriage refusal

A man killed a 20-year-old girl when her family members rejected his proposal to marry the girl and later committed suicide in Factory Area police limits on Sunday. Accused Safdar, father of four kids, of Sarai Alamgeer, Kharian wanted to marry Rehana Bibi of Sitara Colony. According to the police, the accused sent a proposal to the family of the victim but they refused. On the day of the incident, he barged into the house of Rehana Bibi and exchanged harsh words with the family members of the girl and opened an indiscriminate firing. As a result, the girl died on the spot. Later, he committed suicide. The victim’s family called the police who removed the bodies to morgue for autopsy.
MAN KILLED ON ROAD: A 40-year-old man died in an accident in the Nistar Colony police limits. Police removed the body to morgue for autopsy and registered an FIR on the complaint of Khadim Hussain, brother of the victim, Ghulam Hussain. Ghulam Hussain was going on a rickshaw when the rickshaw driver lost control over the vehicle and hit a wall. As a result, Ghulam Hussain received injuries. The rickshaw driver fled. The victim was shifted to a nearby hospital where the doctors pronounced him as brought dead.
BIKERS: On the directives of NH&MP Inspector General Muhammad Saleem Bhatti, Motorway Police Central Zone is launching a campaign for promoting the use of quality motorcycle helmets ‘Quality helmets save lives’, said Zonal Commander, DIG Mirza Faran Baig, while reviewing road safety campaign at Zonal Office. The objective for the campaign is to educate the motorcycle riders about the quality of helmets as all helmets don’t provide protection from head injuries.
