Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that Pakistanis living abroad are the ambassadors of the country in the real sense and playing an important role in strengthening the national economy.
The PML-N government is taking all-out measures for the solution of their problems and an autonomous Overseas Pakistanis Commission has been set up in Punjab which is playing an active role in this regard.
According to a handout issued here Sunday, the chief minister said this while talking to a delegation of overseas Pakistanis in London Sunday. Commissioner Overseas Pakistanis Commission Punjab Afzaal Bhatti was also present on the occasion.
Talking to the delegation, the chief minister said the government was fully aware of the problems of Pakistanis living in other countries and Overseas Pakistanis Commission had been established to resolve their problems on priority basis. He said that under the commission, committees had also been formed at district level which were resolving the problems of overseas Pakistanis at local level. He said Overseas Pakistanis Commission had been set up to save overseas Pakistanis from paying frequent visits to various offices for solution of their problems; it was a constitutional institution which is fully autonomous and overseas Pakistanis could also register their complaints online and immediate action would be taken on their complaints, he said.

He said Overseas Pakistanis Commission Punjab had been established to redress the grievances of Pakistani engineers, doctors, labourers and others working in different sectors. He said that all-out measures would be taken to ensure respect to overseas Pakistanis and protection of their hard-earned money. He said that through establishment of Overseas Pakistanis Commission Punjab the foundation of a new system had been laid which would ensure justice to overseas Pakistanis and protection of their rights.
