LAHORE
The Punjab government has provided 6,500 ton relief goods of one billion rupees through 900 trucks to flood affectees.
PDMA has constructed 12 warehouses with the cooperation of European Union at different cities including Muzaffargarh and Lahore where edible and necessary items can be restored. There is capacity of storing 7500 metric ton goods at warehouses of Lahore and Muzaffargarh.
PDMA Director General Jawad Akram said that survey reports of losses caused to the houses and crops in flood affected areas are being received and a third party audit will be conducted after completion of survey and process of provision of financial assistance will be started from second week of September. He said 75 percent work of survey has been completed in Mianwali, 100 percent each in Khushab and Bhakkar, 60 percent in Layyah, 70 percent each in Muzaffargarh and Dera Ghazi Khan while 65 percent each in Rajanpur and Rahimyar Khan has been completed.
He said all district administrations have been directed to complete the survey till August 31 (today). He said on the instructions of the government, work of strengthening spurs is continuing.
