Six die in road accidents

At least 533 road traffic accidents were reported to the Rescue 1122’s Provincial Monitoring Cell in all the 37 districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours in which six lives were lost during these traffic accidents in different districts of Punjab and 416 seriously injured were shifted to different hospitals of the relevant districts. However, some 208 victims sustaining minor injuries were provided first aid on the spot.
According to a data 233 drivers, nine underage drivers, 87 pedestrians and 310 passengers were among victims of these road traffic accidents. The statistics show that 104 RTAs were reported to Lahore Control Room, which affected 102 persons placing the provincial capital at the top of the list followed by 46 RTAs in Faisalabad with 53 victims and Gujranwala at third position with 43 RTAs and 47 victims. Details further show that total 630 victims were affected by the road traffic crashes including 506 males and 124 females, while the age group of the victims showed that 79 were under 18 years of age, 399 were between 18 and 40 years and rest of the 152 victims were reported above 40 years. According to the data, 436 motorbikes, 74 auto rickshaws, 48 motorcars, 29 vans, four passenger buses, 25 trucks and 56 other types of auto vehicles and slow moving carts were involved in the aforesaid road traffic accidents.
